Touma is not normal
By - 5hand0whand
Dude was unphased despite a literal norse head god murdering him and putting him through literal hell, hundreds of billions of times for hundreds of billions of years.
then proceeded to psychoanalyze said god and mentally break her by not breaking.
OH YEAH and then despite one missing his heart, two missing part of his lungs, and three... MISSING THE REST OF HIS LOWER HALF. Gave said god a pep-talk that ends up, not only making her change for the better but also fall heads over heels to the point she uses the rest of her power to resurrect him and bring back his world (universe).
im convinced he just says he's normal to stay sane
He's probably just lying to himself so he has the *slightest* chance to actually finally be a normal high school boy
Awfull financial situation, basically no proper sleep everyday of his life and no emotional support figure in his life that doesnt also lead to trauma.
Seems pretty average to me, tbh.
Yeah nothing out of ordinary for me
He faced billions of torturous worlds crafted by a spiteful god to break him yet she wore down before he did. And he barely had any symptoms of trauma after.
He have plenty of symptoms already those just wasn't strong enough to stick around
He had a panic attack in NT12, but that was about it.
Probably the reason i do't like him that much, that was bullshit
At that point it’s pretty in your face that something is not human about him, since yeah, I can’t imagine any other human would come out of that the same way. Kamachi even makes a note of it in the afterword.
Yeah, i like human characters, when almost eveything around touma is human then him not being one is special not only in a good way
idk he seems pretty normal to me
Yeah, pretty much
this is the equation necessary to make kamijou:
(shirou emiya + angra mainyuu) • 10= kamijou
soooo yeah thats my reasoning
You could actually throw in Gilgamesh, given his hidden power and the fact he was supposedly born for the purpose of keeping gods in line. Not to mention the entire world just naturally revolves around him without him realizing, which is similar to golden rule.
So Touma =(Gilgamesh+Shirou Emiya+ Angra Mainyu)\*100
+memory lost and constant anxiety + his hypocritical habit of telling others to ask other for help while he shouldered everything alone. His only mental support is blaming it on bad luck, seeing other happy and the link (past memories and habits of saving people cause of his misfortune) to kamijou
oh yeah, that is right
also kamijou would fit perfectly into the nasu-verse
Yeah brutal in Nasuverse magic is talent in opposite of Toaru, while in Toaru magic is hard work .
Spoiler mark this post, coz people are commenting about the LNs
In Nt20 Aleister said that whatever is in touma is so dangerous that Choronzon, who in terms of knowledge and immortality is far above even the magic gods and othinus, could accidentally destroy herself if she so much as looked into it too much, like how a normal human would break after reading a true griamore. In Nt22 he unleashed power beyond or at least on par with othinus. In Ntr22 it's all but stated that all this power was created by him alone and that the only reason he's weak at all is because he wants to be and subconsiously suppresses his true nature.
May i receive the specefic chapter of the source you are speaking of my good sir.
No average high school boy would turn against the entire world for a single person.
Or would they
I wouldn't at the very least
True but he did that the point
People are far more selfish than you give them credit for
But also crazy and unpredictable more than you think
Survive without the protection of fate; withstand many brutal fights with lots of mortal wounds; answer to every true problem in life with violent; aware of said answer is wrong but always make it right in the end; fight an omnipotent goddess for infinity and beyond to claim back his world; declared to fight the entire said world for the same goddess even though she have tortured him beyond anything human mind can comprehend; keeping calm enough to find a way out with a skycraper falling from the sky toward him; afraid to die but willingly facing death to protect the bystanders; doing all of that not because he feeling responsible nor has a duty to do so, not even for a sense of justice or out of malice, kamijou touma do what he do because he selfishly want to and always pursue his own path, his own answer, his vision for a happy smile of other even if it would kill him to do so. Being normal is just one of his many lies so that he can enjoy the fruit of his labor to their fullest by being normal.
>Touma is not normal
Yeah, no shit, what tipped you off? The regenerating arm, the split personality, the ability to go through daily life with severe brain damage, the impossible durability, the fact that his bathtub is where Fortuna goes to die, or the motherfucking dragons?
Name one guy who have a harem and a habit of saving people that are right in the head or normal.
Well played sir not what I mean but well play. But does explosion count as normal?
>But does explosion count as normal?
Depends, whats normal for a firework is chaos for a fireworks factory
Depends huh nope don't count NEXT
Now look, i aint an expert on the human anatomy, but im pretty sure that if your arm gets cut off, an entire goddamn dragon *isnt* supposed to come out of the wound, and especially not eight of the fuckers.
And thats not even getting into whatever the fuck NT22R was
Yep, he is not my average normal high school boy.
*cries in Misaki*
He's got a right arm that has a power to negate all powers, and inside that arm he's got something weird that a "normal high school boy" would definitely not have. He's also more gutsy than most high school boys, and he's experienced more hell and battles than them too.
And yet he still run to hell head first to save a person
